Packet

Privacy notice

Last updated 5 August 2026

This notice explains what we do with your email address if you sign up to hear from Packet before we open. It is short because we collect very little.

Who we are

Packet is a trading name of Phil Munro, based in the United Kingdom. Phil Munro is the data controller for the information described here.

We intend to incorporate a limited company, Packet, in due course. If we do, the company will take over as data controller and your information will transfer to it. Nothing else about how we use it will change, and you can unsubscribe at any point before or after that happens.

You can reach us at info@packetlabel.com.

What we collect, and why

WhatWhyLawful basis
Your email address To email you when we open, and to send news and offers Your consent
The date you signed up, and the exact wording you agreed to So we can show, if asked, that you did agree and what to Our legal obligation to keep records of consent
Which link brought you to the site, if any To know roughly where our visitors came from Our legitimate interest in understanding what works
If you fill in our questionnaire: your answers about what you buy, and the discount code we issue you To send you your code, to honour it later, and to understand what people actually buy Taking steps at your request to give you the code you asked for, and our legitimate interest in understanding our customers

That is everything. We do not ask for your name, address or phone number. We do not buy email lists and we will never add you without you asking.

Two things about the questionnaire are worth saying plainly. Answering it does not put you on our mailing list — that is a separate tick box, it is never pre-ticked, and you get your code whether or not you tick it. And the questions are only ever about what you already buy. Nothing you tell us obliges us to sell it.

Cookies

We do not use cookies, and we do not store anything on your device. We count page visits, but the count is anonymous: no cookie, no advertising identifier, and no IP address is kept. There is nothing in that record that could point back to you, which is why this site has no cookie banner.

Who else can see it

Your email address is held in a database run by Supabase and the site is served by Netlify and Cloudflare. They process the data on our instructions and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Some of these providers are based outside the UK, and where that is the case the transfer relies on the safeguards their standard contractual terms provide.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe, or until two years after your last interaction with us, whichever comes first. If you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record that you did so, so that we do not accidentally email you again.

Questionnaire answers and any discount code are kept on the same basis. If you unsubscribe but want your answers deleted as well, say so and we will remove them — though that will take the code with them.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and it is done — no login, no form, no asking you why. You can also just reply to any email, or write to info@packetlabel.com, and we will take you off.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

Email info@packetlabel.com and we will deal with it within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.
